I am having a problem with being really tired after about 1pm hit. I just loose focus and end up having to take a nap. I have just started working out and eating healthy for the last four days in a row. Is there something I can change?

Your profile mentions having trouble getting out of bed - is that an energy issue too? (Not trying to pry, just looking for clarification re: how things have changed)
Your diary is closed, so I can't see how much you're eating - are you sure you're getting enough calories?0 -
well now I a feeling more energized in the morning and less in the evening. but yes it was hard for me to get up in the morning because of my lack of energy as well. I tried three times to make my diary view able try now!0

I would try eating smaller meals throughout the day with a lean protein, healthy fat, and carb at each meal. That will help regulate your blood sugar and hopefully avoid that slump in the afternoon.0

can you suggest some foods ( maybe a day of meals) that would fit that category?0

If you're on a calorie deficit , you WILL feel tired... this is especially the case if you're on a low-carb diet.
Just drink tea throughout the day or black coffee(no sugar added). When I'm REALLY tired, I just chug my black coffee and that keeps me sweating and alert for about an hour, then I make another black coffee and just sip it.
Works for me.0 -
possible you might be Vitamin D deficient? have your blood checked.
Vitamin D is vital for making our muscles work efficiently and boosting energy levels
A hormone normally produced in the skin using energy from sunlight, Vitamin D can also be found in a few foods - including fish, fish liver oils, egg yolks and fortified cereals but it can also be effectively boosted with Vitamin D supplements.0 -
alright I am definitely on a calorie deficit so my body is just getting used to it. I will try the coffee idea!0

I am vitamin d deficient actually, Ive been told by docotors. should I pick up some vitamin d supplement pills from the store?0

My diary is open if you'd like to take a look. Warning, though, I recently changed my meal format so the assignations aren't really right for most of it. Everything before a day or so ago was the "breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks" layout. I generally don't have too much trouble with energy when I get enough sleep, which for me is between 7 and 8 hours. I find that hitting my protein/fat macro definitely helps.
I disagree with the assertion that you will inherently be tired if you're running a caloric deficit. I've sometimes gotten emotionally exhausted (imagine a cranky, overtired toddler running 'round in my brain), but I usually don't get physically tired except when I'm supposed to sleep.
ETA: Yes, if you're deficient in vitamin D, supplementation will probably help. Make sure it's a decent quality supplement, though. Ask your doctor for a recommendation or do some research.0 -

Huge YMMV there - when I did a ketogenic (25-30 carb/day) diet, I wasn't tired at all. Likewise, I bumped from 1200 cals/day where I was exhausted and cold all the time, to 1310, and now feel great - and am continuing to drop. So it's pretty individual.0 -

You can get that, as well as a second, well-respected calculation of your caloric needs (MFP's "sedentary" category is a bit low for many people, even those who are fairly sedentary!)

You'll see suggested meals, snacks, etc.0 -
low on energy? Maybe you aren't getting enough magnesium, a commonly overlooked nutrient that may supercharge you. i used to have the same problem then i started taking magnesium 4( 1,000mg ) after 3-5 week i was not having to take a nap all the time.0

This. One good brand is GNC's calcium+D chews, and there are lots of other brands with the same kind of formulation.0 -

^^This. I've never gone ketogenic, but I have days where I'm lower carb than others, and I usually like the way I feel on those days a lot. But I like sugar and think carbs are yum, and I don't feel like garbage when I eat them. It can just be a little harder to stay full if I overdo on carbs and underdo on protein/fats. And the whole 1200 thing... DEFINITELY not for me either! Unless I'm having a bad day and lose my appetite or earn a boatload of extra calories from exercise, nothing shoots me down the tubes faster than 1200 net calories.0 -
Firstly you aren't eating enough. A salad and 2 slices of pizza in a whole day isn't enough. It all your calories. Also I find when I have a sandwich at lunchtime or anything else carb heavy I feel sleepy straight afterwards to take a look at that.0

I noticed that you have arthritis...maybe you are asking your body to do too much too soon.
Exercise is certainly will help your joints but you need to build up gradually. I over did it when I first started working out only to cause my arthritis to flair up. I now do a lot of lower body stretches to strengthen and loosen those joints.
I think that you could probably add back a few more calories either through lowering your goals or eating back at least some of your burn calories. I lowered my goal per week down from 2lbs to 1.5lbs...to increase my daily calories. Strange thing....I still lose 2lbs a week and am eating more food.
What I noticed in your food diary was that you are not eating much in the mornings. I have had to move my calories around some in order to avoid hitting those "slump" times.0 -

sometimes a doctor will prescribe this if its to severe.
it wont hurt if you get some supplements.
eat more fish or get a fish oil supplement too0 -

alright I will start looking at eating more foods a day and figuring out what suits me the best. I figured this may be a problem.0 -
I don't know your stats, but is it possible that your calorie goal is too aggressive?
Treat your calorie goal like... a goal. Get as close as you can without going over. Your deficit should already be built into your number.0
