unfortunately i work nights so its impossible to "eat as a family" i see my kids long enough to take them to school. They do not eat fried foods everyday. Also their metabolism is that of their mothers and not mine. My wife is 5'7 and her normal weight is about 115 and my kids have her body type, long and thin lol if anything they may need to eat more, but they are also very active. a little too active
Let me be blunt then. The problem is yours. You gotta work on the portion control. I've definitely been there. It's just something that you have to do.0 -
I think this is where "pity pounds" come from, LOL... my husband certainly gained a few while I was pregnant! We just ate the same things regardless :-P0

dude...my brother..she has an effin baby to feed. just be supportive of her and think about how your health is important to the baby.
Biscuits, butter and fried chicken is not for the health of the baby.
She needs to eat healthy now more than ever. Yes she needs more calories, but crap like that is dangerous. Gestational diabetes is NOT fun, and pre-eclampsia is deadly.
Being pregnant is not an excuse to "eat for two" and eat crappy.
I have 3 kids, and gained way more than the recommended 30 lbs for each. But I ate a healthy calorie surplus, with occasional cheat days.
this is what i was thining, babies dont need garbage0 -

Thin or not--it's about HEALTH not just weight and if it's not good for you it's not good for them. Your kids can eat calorie dense, healthy foods. If you can't eat with your family then how is what she making problematic for you? Either you're there or you're not...initially you said you could smell it so I assume you're there and if you're there then how can you not make the time to eat as a family?0 -

I work 1pm to 9pm, by the time I get home everyone has had dinner. However, by that time, she us hungry again so will be heating up food and I'm there to smell it. But, I dont eat after a certain time and I don't feel the need to wake everyone up to eat as a family. Everything is not black and white and just because u can't understand why something doesn't click doesn't make it wrong. BTW, my kids do eat healthy, and they don't eat biscuits butter and fried chicken every day. I just listed those as examples. Sorry I didn't give u my daily schedule so that u could comprehend why I said it was impossible.0 -
i sympathize with ya ive had five kids.. and put my husband through lots of food tortures.. stay strong man.. you can do it0

If it's not daily then it sounds like you're dealing with normal life temptations just like everyone else. So, it's far from impossible. I'm not sure why you're so defensive about it--you're the one who painted a picture of your wife eating lots of crappy food that you can't eat and feeding it to your kids as well, not me.0 -
