Is There Any Hope For Excess Skin?

I absolutely love the progress I've made but this excess skin (and I know it isn't as much as some), is bumming me out. Will time help or am I just stuck with it? Anyone care to share stories?

Thanks for the picture, with lots to lose I know I will have excess soon but had no idea what it would look like. Yours doesn't look bad to me.

Thanks :) And you're right, not a lot of people seem to want to post pictures of the left over skin.. perhaps not seeing that it is normal is one of the reasons I feel so bad about it.

I think it is part of the journey for a lot of people - myself included. I am not sure what does or does not improve it, but I can tell you this - exercise has improved my overall shape. I am more hour glass shaped and less barrel - like shaped. It pulls your belly in and your butt and breasts up. It may help with excess skin to some degree. It is worth a shot, trust me. Zumba, free weights, interval training classes (weights and aerobics) all helped me. I cannot recommend it enough. Helps your mood and self esteem too.

You could try a combination of weight training, a bit of cardio, and then dry brushing (for stretch marks). I'm not sure if it will work? But the only other alternative is surgical. However? I've heard of some non-surgical methods being used to tighten skin? I'm just not confident in how successful they would be. I've seen them do wonders under the chin and stuff though. Maybe looking into that would help?

My saggy skin got better but its not gone. I am so happy I see progress that I don't mind it at all.
  • Try replacing your bread and heavy starches with lentils, beans, and split peas. They are high in calories but they have so much fiber that they are useful to reduce abs (specially the "pouch" area). I discovered this trick a few years ago when I my lower abs would "hang" due to saggy skin and extra weight. At first I felt bloated and uncomfortable but after a week my body adjusted and got used consuming that much fiber. ...And of course, do not forget about the cardio. I am currently following the same routine since I gained weight due to an injury and its working fabulous!
