trying to mix it up a bit

Just started a week ago working out again. I have been doing a different workout every day. One day I will fast walk on the treadmill, not able to run yet, zumba DVD, p90x which I have had results with in the past. My question is do I have to eat that much protein? I am a carb girl and hesitant to do only p90x because I don't want to eat all that protein. Should I continue to do whatever workouts orjust stick to p90x, suck it up and eat protein all day??

Eat what woks for you and work out the way it works for you, nothing is cut and dried. Sounds like you're mixing up the routine working out-wise, no reason you have to change to eating a way that you don't like (that won't end up being easy to do in the long run)

Do you do any of the strength training on the P90x?
Protein is thee most important part of your diet for repairing your muscles....it's a must for weight training but I find it is as important for cardio and losing weight as well. It is definitely worth trying to get more protein in your diet as your body will recover quickly and it will help prevent your body from burning away your muscle, enabling you to do more.

Protein and carbs have the same amount of calories per gram (4kcal p/g).
For what it's worth, I find diets that are set out tend to be too extreme and you should take what you find good from them but create your own meal plan based on what you like to eat...it's easier to reach your goal and not fall off the wagon altogether.

Add protein to your diet by eating: boiled egg (any method of egg even), tuna, chicken, turkey or nuts. even adding sesame seeds to a salad. for your dinner give yourself a little more meat and a little less carb. Even if you don't meet a recommended amount any extra is a help :)
There's also low carb protein powders available.....just mix up a shake and down it and it's basically all protein no carbs and no fat.

I use MFP's protein & fiber goals as minimums & ignore the rest. But if you ask 100 MFPers, you'll get 100 different opinions. Everybody's different, and weight loss takes a whole lot of trial & error to find what works for you.
