Help ! I dont know whats happening!!

Hi, My name is alix,
Im 5'2 and currently 169 lb.
Im having an extreamly difficult time losing weight,
I work out about 5-6 times a week, for about 45-60min and im vegan.
Im not sure what im doing wrong but i cant get myself below 160 and i get as high as 170.
Its a huge flux every 2 weeks. I eat between 500- 1300 calories a day but nothing is working.
Im getting really unmotivated because nothing is working for me, i eat alot of fruit and veggies, hummas, sandwhiches, nuts. I drink mostly Rum and juice drinks if i go out and drink which is only once a week.
Does anyone have any advice i want to be 130-140lbs which isnt so far away but i just cant reach it, its like my body forces me to stay with in the ten pounds.
HELP!

Are you sure you're eating enough? I don't think 500-1300 calories can be enough if you're working out that much.

I Have no idea, I dont really know how much i should be eating, on MFP if i work out it will add almost 1000 calories more which is difficult since i cant seem to eat past 1300 or so, someday i def can but most its as low as 500 which is really bad. could that be an issue?

Hi I having been at this very long myself just a few weeks so I don't no much about it , but eating as low as 500 cals doesn't seem like a good idea from things I have read you need a min is 1200 and eating to low can stop you from loosing and damage your health, may be eating more and keep your daily intake to at least 1200 would help

Under eating may or may not be the cause of your stall, but it has a lot of other health risks that you probably want to avoid.

Let's start with the basics. Would you be comfortable opening your diary for us?

How long have you been stalled? If it's just been a few weeks then it's likely normal fluctuations and nothing to worry about. If it's been a month or more it's time to change things.

How many calories did MFP recommend for you and what do you find difficult about meeting those calories? A lot of dieters immediately drop to as few calories as they can eating, cutting out food groups, etc. Make sure you're getting enough protein and fats. These are essential and lacking in a lot of dieter's diets. Get rid of anything low-cal or low-fat and replace it with the original product.

It is very unhealthy to eat below 500 calories - your body is not getting what it needs.

The only other thing I can think of is you are eating more than you think and are not measuring anything out ?

I can def try to open it up i haven't been using it as often as i should but i plan to be on it often, I've been dealing with this for over a year now. It recommends 1330 Calories for me a week, As for eating low, i have been working on it for about 5 months to eat more, i just feel like a bloated bowl when i do like i said there are times i eat alot more in prolly the range i should, Im wondering if my metabolism is damaged because i under eat so often. If that seems to be the major problem ill work on it more, i know use alot of lipids in my oils and nuts when i cook, I shall try to look into eating more, possibly i should eat more things that wont make me feel bloated and such. Its kind of fusterating, but ill try and i will use the MFP 10X more then i have.

You aren't logging and eating more than you think.

My advice would be to log accurately for 3-4 weeks. Hit your goal of 1330 or as close as possible (+/- 50 calories or so). Be sure you're weighing your portions or at least using measuring cups right now. Not only will this give you a good baseline for what you need in order to lose weight but it will let you watch out for any food intolerances you may be experiencing that would make you feel bloated. With that information you can adjust your diet as necessary.

Look for foods that are calorie dense like nuts, nut butter, avocado, etc. These are foods that pack a lot of calories into a small volume and will increase your calories without forcing you to eat a lot more food.

If you're worried that your metabolism might be depressed, it might be best to speak with your doctor or a dietician, preferably one trained to deal with disordered eating habits. Some professional advice might be a good idea.

I'm similar stats to you - 5'3, and was 164lb start of November, about 146lb today. I eat 1300-1400 cals per day, exercise between 300-700 cals per day (as measured by my HRM), except Yoga on Sundays which is my 'active rest' day.

Sometimes I eat back my cals, mostly I don't unless I'm going out somewhere for food and/or drinks. If I'm looking like I'm going to hit under 1200 cals I'll have an extra snack (peanut butter on toast or something) - but that rarely happens because I try and plan my food a day ahead. I don't necessarily believe in cutting groups of anything out of my diet, and make room for the things I love (wine, chips and dip, indian takeaways etc) but I plan ahead for them in my diary, and modulate my portions. Mostly I eat relatively clean though.

If you're asking for help on your diet, best thing is to open your diary so everyone can see, but if you're not getting anywhere its normally because you are eating more than you think, and/or over estimating your exercise calories.

Do you have a food scale and weigh your food?
Do you add oils etc for cooking in your diary?
Are you accurately logging what you drink (particularly juices etc, full of sugar!)

My advice is to weigh/measure (within reason) and log everything that goes into your mouth, eat a minimum of 1200 cals per day, but aim for 1300-1500 (find those healthy nutrient dense foods) get an HRM for your exercise to more consistently and accurately log your exercise cals.

Feel free to add me for support if you like
