Heart Rate Monitor Brand

Hi - first time posting so not sure if this is the right section. Looking to get a decent heart rate monitor. Went the cheap route last time with a new balance ($40 or so) and it crapped out after a year. Not looking to spend a fortune, but I guess with all the app integration, it might make sense to spend the money.

Right now I'm seeing results with just a calorie deficit. I never really saw any weight loss progress from cardio, but I think in part because I had know way to measure if I was pushing myself. I'd like to be able to create some data behind a workout, similar to how I can now do with tracking my food.

Thanks!!!

I am also interested in knowing...bump
  • I have the Polar FT4 and I love it. It makes you really push yourself to stay in your target heart rate, and thus it's calorie count is pretty accurate for your body. It's a watch and a band that goes around your upper body. Nothing really fancy but I think Polar offers a few different models to choose from.
  • I too have a Polar HRM and have had no issues at all with it. It connects to most machines in the gym too and syncs with them as well as the watch.
