I haven't worked out in a month... I was rear ended right before Christmas and have been dealing with whiplash and vertigo. Feeling very frustrated and need to figure out something so I don't lose all of the muscle I have worked so hard for.

Has anyone ever been sidelined for a long period of time and then be able to get back into a solid workout routine????

I'm so sorry to hear about your accident. Is there anything you can do for the whiplash/vertigo? I wish you a speedy recovery. :flowerforyou:

The last week of the summer I broke my foot. I was doing so well with Insanity and was ready to start another round and with back to school and all that jazz, i was running out of my building and stepped wrong and CRACK! Fell on my face, foot swelled instantly. it was awful. I was SO sidelined. It made me realize how easy bad habits you worked so hard to not do anymore, quickly return. I gained almost 20lbs. I had to find a great ortho and thankfully I did. He was really great. I go for my last (hopefully) xray in February. I'd have to say that I'm very glad and I know it should be healed, especially since I'm comin up on my 4th week of TurboFire which i LOVE! I've been able to shed 8lbs so far and am now very big on preventative medicine. I need to stay well! Wife and mom of 4...psh...makes for a busy busy busy schedule but i always make time for me now.

Hey - sorry you had an accident :( I had knee surgery and it took a few months before I could actually get on a road bike. I'm into backcountry skiing and have to be super patient with that. They say it takes up to a year to be healed. I know how insane not doing stuff can be!

There is hope - I'm working out with weights now and bundling up and road biking when I can. My PT guy had me just start with super easy exercises doing 20 reps - moving towards 3x 20 then adding 5lbs or so at a time. Can you do some light yoga or stretching? Hope it helps!

Can you do something like a recumbent stationary bike, so you don't have to worry about balance issues/vertigo and keep your upper body fairly stable?
