MikeALee95's Road to the Military

Hey guys I am an 18 year old college student, I was introduced to the site from my college tutor as a tool to help me monitor what I eat and How well I am doing.

I am during this purely for my health, not the fact I am unhappy with my Appearence, because I am overweight, it is effecting my Asthma and I am confident that once I am in shape and at the weight I am most content with I am sure I will be able to be fit enough to Pass a Basic Military Fitness

Welcome brother, What branch are you planning to join? I was medically retired from the US Navy in 2008.

I know this might sound strange coming from a diva like me, but I have ALWAYS wanted to be in the military. When I was a kid I did air cadets for 6 years, and I loved it. Air cadets is a Canadian youth program that teaches basic (and toned down) military skills like drill, leadership, teamwork, survival, physical fitness, citizenship and much more. Even now as an adult I volunteer with cadets to teach them what I was taught.
I thought a lot about joining the military before my first degree (so my tuition was covered) but I was terrified because I was so out of shape. Now I have finished the first degree and am starting the second one in September and am going to talk to the recruiter to see if I can do it. I know I am older, but I have a few months to do nothing but get in shape.

Pretty much the same here, Except I was an Army Cadet In the Army Cadet Force in the United Kingdom as you can see from my profile picture and yet to become an Adult Instructor. :P

I am quite a good motivator and try and get someone through to the end of their workout or exercise, Despite being overweight
