Anti-motivation by friends

Recently I've been trying to get back into running/doing yoga/working out, and numerous people, namely my boyfriend, keep telling me to stop. As in "Why do you want to spend your time doing that instead of hanging out" etc etc. It just makes it hard to want to workout after work/class when there's people making me feel guilty for it. Does anyone else have this problem or know how to deal with it? I've already said before that it makes me really happy and I want to be more fit but oh well.

Sounds like you've got some haters. Maybe your passion for being fit makes them feel guilty for not having that same drive. Follow your heart. And the healthier it is through diet and exercise, the easier it will be to follow.0

One thing that might help is if you ask him or any of the other people to join you in your workouts. Even if It's just a long walk or something that way you can still spend time with him. Plus, and your boyfriend should especially love this, there have been studies done where people who are active tend to have a better, healthier bedroom life if you know what I mean.0

How much are you working out that other people are thinking it's a lot? It's completely possible to work out an hour a day and still hang out, but if it's hours and hours a day then that's different0

Just keep doing your thing, and stop taking the position that you have to justify it to anyone. If someone is asking me to hang out when I had a workout scheduled, I just ask if we can meet an hour later than what they suggested, without going into why. That works just fine for me.0

This! If your boyfriend doesn't respect that you are doing something you enjoy it might be time to look at your relationship and make sure you are a good match.
If he wants to spend time with you he could always go on a run with you, or do another type of activity.0 -

Hi you don't need anybody's approval that happens all the time you get dishearten cause people you care about say things like that but the truth what's important it's you what you think and what you feel no one can bring you down.0
