looking for a fitness tracker vivofit?

I want a fitness tracker and I am thinking about the vivofit. Any other suggestions? I wonder when the vivo fit will be available?

I'm able to check out at the garmin site for pre-order and hear it's going to be March.

Garmin says that Vivofit should arrive in Q1 this year

I decided I was giving up my BodyMedia core and was looking for something different. I came across the Vivofit and I like what I see. I'm still doing my research but I am pretty sure I'm going with the Garmin.
  • Doesn't look like the API is going to be any good for the Garmin Vivofit so I don't see MyFitnessPal integration anytime soon. The lack of allowing to log food seems like the Vivofit is kind of useless. Did I miss the part about logging food?
  • You can use the Fitbit site as an intermediary for logging activity data from Garmin Connect to MFP. Sign up at fitdatasync.com and this allows you to transfer your Garmin data to Fitbit. Link your Fitbit account to MFP and there you go.

You don't need to buy or own a Fitbit unit to do this.

REI started shipping the Vivofit this week. You should be able to get it now.

true but the "activity" data is just that, your actual workouts etc. while nice, it would be *better* to have the Garmin Vivofit calorie burn data replace the myfitnesspal.com estimate as a whole that way it isn't just an estimate for 23 hours a day a actual "activity" for 1 hour a day. This is what Fitbit products do.

I think I might be repeating the above post but.... when I go to endomodo, fitdatasync or whatever the "middle man" is, it doesn't recognize the daily data on garmin connect. It only looks for active/ties or workouts I added. Is there anyway to get the actual calorie burned data from garmin to my fitness pal, not just single activities?

    Thanks.

BTW... I can just open up two windows and look at Garmin and MFP, but I get obsessive about data in general. I still love the vivofit so far!
