Lauren, the best way for me to motivate myself is to support others. Not sure why that is but by pushing others and giving them support, it keeps me rolling along. I also get massive amounts of internal satisfaction and happiness from encouraging others

Kristy, hope you are feeling better!!! Glad you found the thread again

Finn, looks like we are both in the same boat.... trying to break into those d#$% 150s!!!!

Susan, glad you found it too!!!

Kris, smart choice. Let your body heal. It will thank you for it!

    AFM:
Ate more than I should have yesterday, calorie wise. No binging. YAY!!!! I haven't binged nearly as much in the past few months. My emotions are much more in check. I'm dealing with them more logically. For any emotional bingers out there, I RECOMMEND THERAPY. It has been so beneficial for me. Originally went over my divorce crisis, ended up helping me in so many other areas of my life.

Not beating myself up for yesterday. It happened. I allowed it to happen. I'm cool. Today I plan to eat within my calories. That simple!!

Listening to my iPod at work, singing along with it, happy to have work to do. Slow workdays stink.

Psssst, *whispers* I have a blind date tomorrow night. I'm excited. The mutual (couple) friends are coming along with us. I'm hoping that if things go really well, we might even see each other Saturday day or night at some point as well. If there's no chemistry, it'll just be a fun dinner with friends.

    Good morning everyone!

I have to report that I did go in for my massage Wednesday night and it was awesome! The pain had gotten so bad that all I could feel down my right arm were tingles, I felt like my arm was in the downward spiral of wanting to fall off. Like I had mentioned somewhat before I had been doing JM 30DS, and then at the beginning of Nov I started working out alternating JM's NMTZ, Banish Fat and 30DS. I was working hard core and loving the way I felt....until the pain started. The massage therapist told me that I overworked my muscles and that I should try giving my body a day of rest in between workouts. So still no working out for me, just watching what I eat and staying hydrated.

My advice for the day, listen to your body, it knows best!

Good luck to everyone this weekend, I know for me the weekends are the hardest!

Clare....how long have you been doing the 30DS? JM's videos are awesome, and worth all the sweat!
Lauryn...enjoy yourself tonight on your date!

    Hi Lauren,

Your pain sounds awful?? I'mglad the massage helped. I've only been doing 30DS for about 5 days. I've never done one of her DVDs before and i really like it. the fact its only 20minutes a day is great for me. I tend to stop doing it if it takes too long of an evening, I just get fed up with squeezing it in. So 30DS is great. I did 60 minutes of Nell McAndew tonight and I am so tired! her DVD is Extreme Challenge.... I dont go full pelt on that one to early on because it kills me. But I nearly completed the whole routine tonight so a really pleased!

Friday night for me now and I'm feeling quite good! I gave up drinking at the end of October and I gave up smoking about a week before that. So no drinking, no smoking, no treats, an hour of exercise and my fiance working a night shift! Sounds quite boring and I think I need some encouragement not to raid the freezer for ice cream!!

I have my first weigh in on Tuesday morning and am nervous already! PLEASE LET ME HAVE LOST JUST A BIT!!!

enjoy your weekend everyone as i might not check in again till next week.

    xxx

Lorna, thinking of you!! When is the doctor's appointment? :flowerforyou:

Doctor's appointment was last Thursday. Since my six month visit before, I was down 15 lb. Of course, 10 of those was in less than a month. So we are checking my thyroid, but we are thinking it is depression. The strange thing is he said I could lose another 10 lb and be okay. I'm not aiming for it, I just hated seeing my ticket past the point I had. I'm content (not quite happy as I still see my "fat parts") with what I am. But I go back in 2 months just to reassess. But thanks for checking on me.

I hope your blind date went well and that the chemistry kicked over into Saturday. Can't wait to hear more...

Lula, glad the visit was "okay" and I understand the depression weight loss. I did that when I was 15. Nowadays, I gain when depressed. I'm glad the doc said you had room to spare on the weight loss; I think that relieves a little pressure. I hope you are able to get this under control. :flowerforyou:

    THE DATE UPDATE:
Friday night went well. We were with another couple so we didn't get to talk much directly to one another. He had to go home directly after dinner due to prior commitments on Saturday that lasted from early morning to late at night. (He's a music professor and it's the end of the semester so there are MANY student recitals and such.) He didn't get in touch with me yesterday -- boo -- but maybe he was still very busy. I am done chasing after him; the ball is in his court. To be fair, I only met him Friday and it's now Monday. I haven't ruled him out, just not desperate enough to hound him.

However --- Yesterday a guy from match.com was able to find me on FB and emailed me and we met up for milkshakes!! We are really well suited for one another, with similar backgrounds and opinions on religion and politics. He's also super hot . That always helps!! He is a civil engineer (ie a guy with a job who makes decent money). Our birthdays are one day apart, both of us Geminis with Cancer tendencies (although we both act like true Geminis... at least on first impression). He's pulling 50 - 60 hours a week at work and doesn't have a lot of time to date. I told him with my custody arrangement, I didn't have a lot of spare time either, so his work schedule wouldn't bother me and he didn't have to worry I'd feel neglected. We'll see if he calls me. If not, no worries.

I'm really laid back about this so far but this was my first time dating in over a decade.

So TWO blind dates in one weekend!!!! Woohoo!
