Well today I broke down as I have hit a plateau I think this week and haven't budged more then a half pound each way. Pretty sure it's cause I am so high on sodium. To alleviate the problem I bit the bullet and bought some protein powder to supplement in place of my egg whites. I went with Optimum Nutrition Natural Whey and also Natural Casein in Chocolate Malt and Chocolate Peanut Butter.
Now all I have to do is get my local Meijer grocery store to carry these Purdue Perfect Portions in low sodium and I will surely be under on my sodium level.
So what I was getting at was what brands of protein people take in and why?

I've tried Zrii Nutrii Veda shake. It had 20 grams of protein, kept me full, and it wasn't too bad of a taste. However, I'm looking for more of a meal replacement that will keep me full, so now I have Lean Shake from GNC. It is really good and it does what it says it does. Maybe you're looking for the work out shakes? Sorry if you are.0

I use Pure Protein. I use it because there are no artificial flavors or ingredients, it's low in sugar because of that, has as much protein as 4 oz. of lean chicken and tastes decent! I like their chocolate and vanilla, the vanilla is more customizable. This week I've been doing grenadine syrup & apple juice or milk and peanut butter. YUM!0

I am allergic to milk so I use Nutribiotic Vegan Protein Powder. I usually add it to a cup of almond milk, a banana, and some berries.0

I have been taken Optimum Nutrition Natural Whey for a number of years. I just got back in the saddle and hitting the work outs hard. I went right back to this protein also. Good luck and work hard!0

I currently use Shakeology. It is pricey but I really really like the quality.0

Jillian Michaels Natural Pure Protein Triple Chocolate Whey Protein shake mix.
Blended with 5 ice cubes and .5 - 1c of Silk lite Chocolate "milk".
100 cals / 15 protein (in the shake mix) and it tastes pretty good! Perfect post workout.0 -
I have the gold standard natural vanilla whey. I don't really like the taste of it with just milk, so I usually blend it with milk and frozen fruit, or peanut butter, which disguises the taste. Next time I am planning on trying something different but it's not horrible! I tried a soy-derived one which was good tasting but I refuse to eat soy on a regular basis so I need to find something different.0

I use Champion Nutrition. I really like the cookies and cream, but the banana mixed with chocolate is good too. The bonus is that it is low carb and it actually tastes good. You can use water or milk!0
