Help needed understanding Protein

Ok, so today is day 2 of logging my food. I used the recommended goals when creating profile. I am over my protein level for the day by 6 grams and its only lunch!! What are the dangers? should I change my goals? I have just finished a raw cleanse, where the only carbs I had were in fruits and veggies, so I was looking forward to my lean cuisine spaghetti & meatbals and my protein bar. Now I am worried I am messing up? Is it a big deal, and if so, why?

Protein is a minimum target and the default protein level set by MFP is unnecessarily low. You can go over it without consequence. Fat is also a minimum and is an important macronutrient to incorporate into your diet.

If you're using MFP's default macros, their protein goal is set a little low anyway. I tend to consider my protein goal as a minimum and my carbs as a maximum. Assuming you don't have any medical conditions that would be affected by it, I don't think you have anything at all to worry about.0

MFP sets its protein requirements quite low. Most folks here change that setting to = 1g/lb of lean body mass. This will help to ensure you retain as much as your lean body mass as possible while under calorie restriction.0
