During my period, I SERIOUSLY bloat. I've decided not to weigh-in when I'm on my period because of this. Ladies who bloat, do you?

Yep. Usually goes down on day 3-4.0

I stay as far away from the scale as possible this time.0
-
I do, but I tell myself it's gonna be more than usual. It goes down after a few days.0

While I am trying to lose weight I am on depro shots, which basically hold off 'that time' all together. This helps me to keep my hormones much more in check and balanced. I don't get monthly bloating because of this, so it is a non issue for me0

Nooo.. i stop weighing when I see my weight creep up.. I check my calendar and if it's near that time I wait until a full 4 days after I'm off to weigh again.. Otherwise you will just beat yourself up and for what?!! :noway:0

I weigh myself everyday (even during that time) but log only once a week. I give myself some slack during that time but still track it so I don't totally over eat - my appetite goes crazy a day or two before.0

I do. I weigh pretty much every morning. I know my weight may be slightly higher, so I know to expect that. I like to know where my body is at, including whether I'm holding water weight or not. It lets me know to drink more water and maybe take a midol. Pretty much anytime the scale goes up, even if it's due to water weight, that's motivation for me to stay on track and not make my period an excuse to eat crap or overeat.0

Nope, I avoid it like the plague!0
-
Nope. I've learned to stay AWAY from the scale during that time of the month. I don't weigh until 4-5 days in, when the water weight finally falls off.0
-
Today is the first initial day. I only weigh once a week and thought, eh what the hell. I wasn't expecting much but I lost 2.7 lbs! I usually avoid it too when TOM is around but I'm glad it didn't this time :happy:0

I do, because I know that if my weight goes up during that time it's usually because I've seriously decreased my water intake. If I keep myself at 3-4 liters each day (my usual goal) I tend to not gain weight.0
-
I weigh weekly and record, so I just note that I'm at that time when I record my weight,0
-
I do. I don't freak out if it increase a bit. It could be muscle mass or water retention etc. i weigh myself everyday.0
-
I weigh every day. There is always ups and downs no matter what and that is OK.0
-
I weigh in every week day regardless. I think it will be interesting to see how much I actually gain during that time. I was just talking to a co-worker about it today, actually.0

Nope.0

Yep, I weigh in everyday and I like to see the changes/patterns over the course of the months.0

My wife weighs every day, and she usually drops the most weight just before her period: she's been doing MFP for several months, and you tell when her cycle is by just looking at her weight loss chart.0
-
Nope, but I weigh myself 5 times a week.0
-
I dont weigh in until I lose0
-
I stay as far away from the scale as possible this time.
Agree ^0 -
I weigh every day no matter what but I am okay with just dismissing the extra weight as temporary.0
-
I do not step on the scale until 2 days after, and I am a daily weigher. My weight can go up as much as 8 lbs and it freaks me out so Istay off.0

I very rarely get my period because of the Depo shot, and I've only owned a scale for a few weeks, so when Aunt Flo DID visit me last week, I did weigh-in. It was discouraging to see the little bit of weight gain (though it was only 0.2 pounds over a full week) but I'm just sort of hoping that my weight loss this week will be wonderful, post-bloat? I will probably continue to weigh in every week, period or no, I just won't take any weight gain too hard, keeping it in mind.0
-
I usually do. Sometimes I would go up several pounds.
I normally get bloated prior to my period starting. Usually up to a week before. It goes away on day 2 or 3 of my period, so I have bloating for 7-10 days.
This month I'm not super bloated Only a little bit. And I still lost weight this week. I am supposed to start my period on Sunday or Monday.0 -
I'm on the pill so day one is always Sunday, by Wednesday (my usual weigh in day) its almost over and the bloat is mostly gone so I weigh in. I never have big losses on TOM weeks but so long as I stick to my weigh in schedule and dont go horribly crazy with the salty foods I don't have gains either.0
-
Sure, why not? I like to track the fluctuations in my body weight.
In the beginning I used to be upset by every up and down. Now I think it's interesting to see the pattern my body usually follows.0 -
No, I steer clear of the scales, as I do gain but it then drops off the following week.0
-
Heck no. I bloat like nothing else and I sometimes cheat. Periods are harsh on me, I lose a lot of my body's resources and get craving and needs to eat something to make up for the deficit. Periods aren't supposed to cause anemia but my gyno says something makes me periods too harsh now and then. If it falls during a weigh-in day, I would say skip that one and try again next week. Though some people weight every day, which I think is excessive and will drive you nuts. Weekly is a more accurate means to track. I do it in the morning after I have done my bathroom business, and have an empty stomach.
Periods are emotionally unstable, what if your scale says something you don't like? It could upset you and in a bad moment you pig on junk or something. Its discouraging and not worth it. Just wait for the next week.0 -
I still weight, I just have to mentally brace myself that I might not like the numbers!0
