Recipe for lo cal choc cake?

I'm experimenting with low sugar (maybe even no sugar) choc cake to slice up & put in the freezer for the odd treat, I'm finding shop cakes are way too icky. Tried a couple of random recipes but they didn't come out that well. Anyone got a favourite on a link somewhere? Doesn't have to be lo-cal particularly tho that would be useful, I usually cut most of the sugar & some of the fat out anyway with cakes& desserts, I can play with someone's tried & tested recipe. :flowerforyou: Cheers! will post back if it comes out well

Have you tried pre mixed cake mix, but instead of oil and milk/water, use diet soda instead. Essentially use 1 package of ready cake mix and a can of soda, bake according to directions on the box.
search the forums, there are more than one thread that has different combinations0 -
Cannot do cake mixes, too allergic to artificial additives. I'll do a search tho, might have known this question has been asked 100 times before lol, we didn't get where we are today by avoiding choc cake0

chocolate cheesecake minis: 75 calories each without any topping and using vanilla wafers
4 oz 1/3 less fat cream cheese
4 oz plain non-fat greek yogurt
1/3 cup cocoa
1/4 cup sugar
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 egg
12 chocolate wafers (if you can find them, I can't so I use plain vanilla wafers.)
Preheat oven to 325.
Place a chocolate or vanilla wafer in the bottom of a cup cake paper, 1 paper in each compartment of a muffin tin.
With a mixer beat cream cheese, yogurt, sugar, cocoa, vanilla extract until smooth. Add egg and beat until smooth and creamy.
Spoon 2-3 tablespoons batter onto each wafer to make 12 total.
Bake 25 minutes. Remove from oven and cool. Store in refrigerator. I haven't tried, but have heard that these can be frozen. Can top each with a couple of chocolate chips while still warm and they will melt to make a topping, but have to add these calories into the total count.0 -
ooo many thanks, I will certainly try that one, I love cheesecake! :drinker:0

I've posted several light cheesecake mini recipes, all in the thread "Does Anybody want Another Cheesecake Recipe?) They started out at 87 calories, but if you keep scrolling down I lightened many of them up by using the combination of light cream cheese and greek yogurt.0

This isn't cake, but it's the best darn protein packed brownie I've ever eaten. You can cut into smaller squares for a lower calorie treat. I make and freeze batches of these during biking season as part of a post ride snack.
