Cut out the sugar completely and use Stevia.

The only makeover that recipe needs is the addition of maple bacon, and perhaps maple ice cream as well. :drinker:

I am deeply insulted by this thing.

I would skip the blueberries since I don't like them, but that probably won't save any calories. :-)

And I love the idea of adding bacon. Mmmmmmm.

Over the holidays had stuffed French toast with peaches. That was delicious.

Then I got on a peaches kick and the next weekend made crepes with peaches.

hehe and since the boyfriend accidently made a triple batch of crepes I got to eat it all week long. I was in heaven.

I think I am having peaches tomorrow.

    Crepes:
Any standard crepe recipe. I omit the sugar. There is lots of butter though,

    Sauce:
Fruit, sometimes juice, water, brown sugar and cinnamon.

Seriously folks...use some egg beaters in place of the eggs, skim milk and real vanilla extract and some cinnamon...If you must use cream cheese choose the fat free kind...It works great in a French toast casserole.

Fat free French Toast? With stevia?
    nope.gif

    Jamais!

I don't even put butter in my crepes. Maybe a teaspoon of oil per batch. Rest is just flour, eggs and milk. They definitely don't keep all week though...

For those of you saying "wtf" about the cream cheese.....OMG try it. A friend of mine used to make a "French toast casserole" that had these blobs of melted soft cream cheese and it was heaven!

Having said that...yeah, it really adds a lot of calories.

Well, there is a difference between French Toast and a French Toast Casserole. The wtf was based on the OP asking about French Toast, not the casserole version.
Lol who cares? French toast + cream cheese = delicious whether it's in casserole form or not.

I'm thinking no. That doesn't sound good at all. Maybe the casserole thing, but French Toast is it's own thing and needs butter and syrup, not cream cheese.

    No.

Skim milk is not as healthy as whole milk. Real eggs are healthier than egg-ish stuff in a carton.

Just for future reference to anyone who looks at this:

It's not simply "semantics." I wouldn't ask for a pancake makeover and post a crepe recipe. Similar, but very different preparations. Or, even crazier, "I need a pizza makeover" and someone posts some crazy pizza casserole.

Semantics are a big deal when the written word is our only form of communication. :flowerforyou:

OP, are you still seeing this? GRAND MARNIER? GOOD, YES?
