How to incorporate weight training?

I've got myself in a routine of getting at least 1 hr of cardio everyday. 23 straight days now. Some days are very light but I feel need to still do something to keep my habit. I'm watching calories each day with MFP and tracking my weight carefully in MFP and in an Excel spreadsheet. I'm pleased with my progress and weight is dropping off. But now, I'd like to incorporate some weight training into my workout. What's a good resource for learning how to do this? My primary goal is still to cut weight, but I feel I should be including some upper body workouts and a least some occasional lower and ab workouts. Also, I'll need to learn how to modify my diet, if that is even necessary, when I start.
