I actually try to eat somewhat 'healthy....' whatever that is. But, I don't think there is any substitute for a hot dog.

With mustard and relish, and preferably onions.

I have to check on turkey sausage...I know maybe a better bread but the meat itself is the main issue, wieners are not healthy. Plus I like all fixings on them too.

I only eat half a bun and slap 2 hot dogs on it ! LOL load it with sauerkraut and mustard MMMMmmmmmmmm good I eat Nathans. I just wish they would go easy on the salt !!! I slice them in half and change the water twice to get some of the salt out of it lol

What's wrong with hot dogs? Why would they sabotage anything?

But there are uncured turkey dogs too.

I've been having hot dogs a lot lately - but today i have a special tea planned too - so needed some extra calories... but hotdogs are on the menu for lunch... so...

I am planning on using half the bun - chopping the dog in half & putting both halves on the 1/2bun - doubling the onion & halfing the cheese (extra onion is decadence & you only need a slice of cheese the whole way along the bun - so - half bun, half cheese right?) and half the tomato sauce... I have a feeling it will look HUGE and "how will that even fit in my mouth" so should satiate visually - but halving the bun, sauce and cheese (in my case) saves 151 calories! The onion is only an extras 18 calories to double it - so overall have saved 133 calories. Its also 18 grams of carbs less! :)

They're high in calories and once you add all the fixings it puts me over, and sometimes just two hot dogs aren't enough

They aren't too bad (100% beef). Those are the only kind we eat, probably like 3-4$ a packet. Theres kosher ones too, those are a little more, but AMAZING

Hebrew National (I think) has a fat free hot dog that is okay. Look for "all-beef" and "fat free" for the lowest calories.

Smart Dogs are really good - vegetarian, soy - high in protein, low in fat - healthier than the 'real thing' - no nitrates.........
