Hello everyone,
I figured that I would drop by and introduce myself considering that I have been lurking these forums for quite a while, and you all seem like a likeable group of people!
A little about myself - I have about 80lbs to lose. I grew up being an overweight child, but I haven't always been overweight. When I graduated high school, I hit the weights in an effort to shed some weight and gain confidence around women. I did so, and after several years of bodybuilding, and then eventually Crossfitting I found myself at a very lean, athletic and healthy 185lbs. I was in the best shape of my life, and I felt like it.
Unfortunately, some things happened in my life that were more or less major emotional crises and I didn't deal with them very well. I turned to alcohol, and abused alcohol until about a year ago. I had gained about 80lbs of fat, and had lost all of my muscle that I worked so hard for. Fortunately, I am doing quite well now, and I am working towards my goal because I have very good motivation in 6 months - my wedding!
I also have a degree in exercise science, and I am pursuing my second degree in industrial hygiene. If anyone has any questions, I may be able to help you from what I have learned through trial and triumph over the years, and academically.
Thank you for taking the time to learn a little bit about me, and I look forward to meeting you all!
