Yes, it's normal. And no, it has no effect on your cycle. Think of it as a "lady part detox". Right now, the increased blood circulation from your exercise is cleaning house.
Oh, and regarding the time question - depends on how aggressive your cardio is and how much needs to be done to get things right, but it shouldn't last more than 4 or 5 days tops.0 -
I thought this was because I have an IUD but I also have this after heavy lifting or really intense cardio (chubby chic version of HITT).0

I had read spotting is normal for people that are on birth control but im not on it so i wasnt sure I guess we just gotta deal with our house getting cleaned :laugh:0

Yep. For me, seems to happen most near ovulation after heavy lifting. I don't do a lot of cardio anymore, but I have also had it happen after a run too.0

Keen observation. At the time of ovulation, the blood vessels in the cervix are slightly engorged. Heavy exertion raises the blood pressure and small capillaries may burst. This is when you see the red spotting. It's nothing to fear. By the time you see it, the vessels have already clotted and repaired themselves. Brown spotting comes from inside the uterus and is equally harmless. I've been there, too, and I wasn't on birth control, either. That's how I learned about it.0 -
Ok so another question how heavy does spotting get? Mines like a light period already is this normal to? Lol sorry im tracking my period for my upcoming wedding so im worried this will mess with it :blushing: Am i worrying for nothing0

Heaviness depends on your current body's state. If you are usually on time, then you should be able to compare the dates and see if spotting from exercise happens to roll over into your normal cycle date. How long before your wedding?0
