Yes I did and was taken off meds early on with weight loss0

Congrats on the 76 lb weight loss. That is a great feat.0

Yep! In just 3 months, too. Totally off "diabetic meds" and down to 1/2 of BP meds that I use to have to take. My doc says a couple more months and I should be "drug free"!!!!!0

Another one here0

Yes and going off meds.0

Yes my blood pressure is quite stable and I was able to go off 1 of the 2 medications. I am doing the diet AND exercise,
knowing that the exercise makes quite a difference. I hope to further reduce my medication in 2014!0 -
Yup. Wasn't high just elevated. And it was probably a mix of the weightloss and my increased fitness through exercise. My resting puls has now also decreased to under 50bpm. Oh and my cholesterol levels are normal again. Never took meds, but they were a bit high before my weightloss.0

I agree with the healthy eating and exercise combination.0

I did and no longer taking medication!!!0

My Blood pressure when I started losing weight wasn't very high, but the doctor was making warning noises. It was coming in around 140/80
Now it's at 110/60, thanks mainly I think to a lot of exercise and watching my sodium intake.....and losing a lot of weight :bigsmile:0 -
i did, i used to believe that high blood pressure is normal for some people(including me) as mine is always high.
but it becomes normal and sometimes in the optimal level since i've lost 20 lbs. and from 32% down to 18% body fat.0 -

I went from 130-40/90-100 to 120/80 so definately yes.0

Yep. I too was taking high blood pressure meds and over time as I dropped weight and improved my doctor weaned me off of them to the point I no longer needed them,0

and celery.,.... there are more too.0 -
If anything, mine has gone up slightly since losing weight. It has always been on the low side though, and it's complicated by the fact that some of my medication has a side effect of lowering blood pressure.0
-
me....and off meds0
-
Yes. At 5'5", and 190 pounds, I was placed on blood pressure medication at the age of 26, with a BP of 150/115.
Got up to 200 pounds, and was taken off when I lost 20 pounds (120/80).
Started taking fitness seriously, down to 147 lbs, and last week had a blood pressure reading of 101/60.0 -
Yep...starting BP was 162/106 avg.... current avg is 116/76 after 75 lb loss0
-
thank you guys.
im just getting frustrated because i have actively been taking steps to live a healthier lifestyle--ive quit smoking, started eating better, exercising a lot-- and my previously low BP has skyrocketed!! wtf. it might just be anxiety about it now but... arg.0
