How to get people to stop giving you unwanted opinions...

I get A LOT of comments from my friends and family (mostly my mother) about needing to eat more and put on weight. Admittedly, they're actually probably right, I'm technically slightly underweight for my height and age... (5'4" and 101 pounds btw)
BUT!!
But this doesn't mean it's other people's place to tell me off EVERY SINGLE DAY, try to get me to list out all my meals for them, or give me a lectured run down of why my entire life-style is wrong... I'm aware of how I eat, I'm moving towards being healthier, gaining weight by building up muscle mass and fittness rather than just eating more - I really struggle to eat a lot of food, it just makes me feel bloated or even sick if I eat in large amounts.
I get that people are trying to help, or offer advice but it's kind of hurtful to have constant pressure everyday from people telling me I'm doing things wrong. How do I get them to just let me be, even just for a little while!

Unfortunatly you will never stop people giving you unwanted opinions.
Whether you are trying to gain weight or lose weight, this is an area that people all think they have a right express opinion on.
My advise to you is to smile and listen. Tell the person you will consider their advice. Use the advise you think is good and disregard the advice you don't like.
I am in the same boat, I am trying to lose and people think it is ok to tell me what I can not eat.
Just take it on the chin.0 -

Have you ever tried being direct with your mom? Chances are she just cares.
For your office workers, just look them in the eye and say "thanks, I'm fine." in a very direct tone of voice.0
