Timing when to eat & when to exercise

Just wondering about early morning exercise. I drink an Advocare Spark first thing when I get up in the morning instead of coffee and am wondering if I should do my morning routine before I eat breakfast or eat before I exercise. I've had some people say to exercise then eat so my body will burn the fat druing the exercise then others say I need the energy from the breakfast to do the exercise. I'm confused.

Do whatever works for you. I exercise in the morning and dont eat first. I never have an issue. Some will say food will help your workout but for me it doesnt matter. Good Luck0

As stated, do whatever works for you. There is not an optimal approach from the research I have seen. The key is not only can you do it, but will it work with your lifestyle so you keep doing it.0

negligible effect... i personally have a light meal (double protein shake and a piece fo fruit) about 30 minutes prior. Im shooting for 40 grams of both carbs and protein. While meal timing isnt essential, it doesnt have zero bearing. its just negligible
try both and do whatever lets you perform better0 -

If you are doing high heart rate cardio, you really need to eat a minimum of 2 to 2 1/2 hours before to get any benefit from the food. Not to mention the puke factor. A cup or two of coffee within 45 minutes of waking up - then working out, followed by breakfast once you finish works fine for workouts that are 90 minutes or less in terms of cardio. If going longer than 90 minutes, start drinking an exercise drink as soon as the workout begins to help fuel a longer workout - then eat afterwards.0
