I'm 200lbs, my wife is 130....according to myfitnesspal, we both need 1200 calls per day to lose 2 lbs per week!! She's almost 70lbs smaller than be, but she can lose weight by eating the same amount of food as me?? what I'm I missing here?

You are missing reasonable goals. The 2 pounds per week goal is not appropriate for everyone.0

In reality one or both of you would need to eat less than 1200 to lose 2/week but since 1200 is the minimum MFP will give anyone (even if by the math they're supposed to eat 1100), you get stuck with 1200.0

First, your wife needs to set her goal to .5 lb. per week. Anything more is unhealthy. Your calorie goal is based on age, height, weight, sex, and activity level. And men lose much more quickly than women, so stop comparing yourself to your wife.
Read this, then tell your wife to read it: http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/1080242-a-guide-to-get-you-started-on-your-path-to-Sexypants
Edited to add that unless you're 5 feet tall, your goal is way more than 1,200. According to your diary, it's 1,767.0 -
