Getting Started!

Hi everyone, I thought I'd introduce myself! I'm 24 5"2 and 146 lbs.
I started MFP about a year ago and lost over a stone, which was great!!! Through pure dieting, and daily walks! I'm back again and have put that stone back on! which is entirely my own fault, I got lazy!!
I've been dieting and exercising for about 10 days now and have lost 4 lbs which I'm very happy about, but looking for advice to continue weightless at a steady pace! I think I probably need to cut down on carbs considerably. I stick to 1200 or under most days, and I try to exercise with yoga every sunday, and I've started a high intensity work out called "30 day shred" which i hope to do at least once a week.
I would love some pearls of wisdom from some of you veterans out there! I work full time and still live at home so exercising through the week is difficult, which I know is no excuse! so any tips to help me get going would be great! I'm finding the cutting down eating healthier thing easier, so looking for pointers on how to get a balance on the whole work / workout scenario!
This week I hope to go on walks during my dinner hour just to keep my metabolism up as I have a desk job. Anyway enough waffling! Hope to hear some of your ideas

I am also 5.2 ft and i started out at 142. I also started with 30ds for my 1st workout program...you won't see much weight come off from that but you will see inches. 1200 cals is probably 2 low, i would do tdee -20%. i lost the same amount on 1200 cals as i did on 1400 cals.0

Hi there!
I'm 5'4" and started out at 170. I've lost over 30 lbs so far and am still losing consistently.
It sounds like you're committed, which is AWESOME. I see that you're staying under 1200 calories a day. Just make sure you get enough calories, because too few can stall your weight loss. It's all about eating the right foods AND the right amount. Your body needs the fuel to build muscle and get fit. I'm doing P90X3 (am in week 3 now) and have already seen results. I like the structure of programs like this - they come with a workout schedule and a meal plan, so you're set up for success. As long as you find what works for you and stick with it, you'll succeed. I highly recommend scheduling your workouts. I use my phone and just put each day's workout in the calendar. It may not sound that helpful, but it just helps me commit. I haven't missed a single workout in a year, so it must be working.
Good luck in your journey!
