I weigh myself every morning! Does anyone else do this? If you don't, how often do you weigh in?

I do. Every morning. I like getting to know my daily fluctuations. Just don't freak out when the weight loss does not seem consistent or uniform.0

I weigh every morning, but I don't take it too seriously as there is a lot of fluctuation in what the scale will show. I just find it interesting to see things like gaining two lbs of water weight after a salty popcorn munch the night before. From what I've seen, it's fine to weigh every day or just once per month, depending on what is right for you. Some people get really emotional if they see a two lbs increase from one day to the next, and the fact that they place such a strong emotional significance can derail them. If you don't get upset by it and can take the day to day fluctuations with a grain of salt, then there's no harm.0

I do . It works for me, but I know that there are fluctuations. But when I stop weighing myself is when I start slacking on my portion control etc. I guess it just keeps me mindful of where I'm at physically. It's not for everyone tho. Do what works for you0

i am right now because i have a significant amount to lose and i want to make sure i am on the right track.0

I weight myself when I'm feeling light. LOL. Sometimes that's everyday, sometimes not.0

I weigh myself every morning, but don't check in unless it goes below the lowest weight because of water retention, and etc. I measure at least every other day or once a week to make sure there are results besides using the scale for my results.0

I also weigh everyday and log my weight in my diary so I can see my fluctuations. I find I don't fluctuate to much unless I don't drink my water, this keeps me drinking water. If you have a eating disorder probably not a good idea but it can be healthy.0

I weigh myself at the same time and day every week, just because I know water weight makes day to day weight weird. I tend to overthink things and I don't want to overthink water weight lol.0

Yes!!! Every morning!0
-
I do also. It keeps me in check. Obviously, what's best for one isn't right for everyone else. But I have found that when I let a few days go without weighing, I become to laid back with logging and food choices.0

I really do feel like those fluctuations make me more conscious of things like staying hydrated and watching my sodium intake! Glad to know others feel the same way!0

I'll be the anomaly here then... I weigh myself every 3-4 weeks because otherwise I just know I'll obsess about it and it'll always play on my mind, but that's just what works for me. It reminds me this is long-term, am I going to weigh myself everyday for the rest of my life even the next couple of years- I seriously doubt it lol0

The first thing I do every morning is weigh myself. I only count the number I see on Sunday morning on here, but I like to see how my weight changes day to day. I track it in Excel, and I think it helps motivate me on days that I'm up a little to look back and see how it's been fluctuating.0

I have weighed myself (and logged the results) every morning since starting my diet in October, and understanding the fluctuations has been helpful for me. When I reach my target weight and transition to maintenance mode, I will eventually move towards weighing in once a week--but for now, the fluctuations and slow, steady progress are what I need to see in order to stay motivated.0

I just weigh weekly - I find that often enough to keep a track on things without becoming obsessive.0

once a week on friday morning when I wake up ...0

I do everyday and have for 7+ years - I find for myself it increases my accountabilty. But it depends on the person if you dont understand your body fluctuations etc it could mess with your head0

You only need to weigh in once a week.
Really, that's all you need to do.0 -
Weigh myself everyday but I don't change my weight on MFP till Monday.0
-
Once a week. Any more than that and I stressyself out. Once I get in a rythem of exerrcise and weight loss is like to only weigh once a month0
-
No no no! I do not want to set myself up for disappointment! I weigh once a week!0
-
Yep. I like to crunch the numbers.0

I like to weigh in daily as it gives me a much better understanding of how different things affect my body. I have used the measurements to find out several things about the way I lose weight, like my weight goes up in the heat (no matter how much I drink) and also increases if I do over 1/2 hour of vigorous exercise like aerobics or similar (I chalk both up to water retention). I have also discovered lack of sleep makes my weight go up.
If I weighed once a week I think I would get much more discouraged if there was not a big change in the numbers. For example for the last 3 days my weight hasn't changed. If I weighed myself in a week and it still didn't change, somehow I would be more discouraged than if it went up by .1 then back down the next day. Maybe it's weird, but that's just me.
As I am working towards losing weight for an event, it helps me stay on track knowing exactly what my body is doing day to day.0 -
Yup, I weigh every morning and then write it down on my calendar. If the number decreases, I had it on MFP.0

Yep I do too. I also graph it.0

I weigh myself every morning first thing but only check in on Tuesdays. I do it to keep me focused and on track. It is when I stop this that I become more slack with my portions and eating. I have gone months without stepping on the scale in the past and every time I have gained a significant amount of weight. I don't mind the fluctuations and usually can pinpoint the cause easily. However I fully understand why the numbers would drive some people crazy or obsessive so it is important that everyone does what is best for them and their results!!0

I just started an experiment for this. So many people tell me not to do this because the of how the scale fluctuates and how it can be very disappointing at times. But I found a way to see the difference I make each and every day. I workout 7 days per week and want to see what effect it has. In order to see results every day, I had to;
1, I don't eat my exercise calories
2, The next morning, go to the washroom to get rid of everything
3, THEN go to the gym
4, Workout hard for 35 to 40 minutes
5, Drink NO WATER during my workout.
6, Drive home & then remove all my sweat-drenched clothing
7, Step on the scale while completely naked
IF you stick to your plan and exercise hard and get a good sweat going, you should see results every day. I'm not recommending that every/anyone do this. I am simply stating that this is what I have done to see daily positive results. It seems to work every time and it's a joy to see the pounds disappear daily.
I once tried weighing myself daily in the morning after I dropped a deuce but the results would always vary, leaving me uber disappointed. The key seemed to be weighing in after my workout. I'd be curious to know if anyone else does this and are you getting the same positive results.
Cheers

I weigh myself every other week. I don't like to see a lot of fluxuation, so every day is too frustrating. Once a month is not often enough for the "control" I feel comfortable with.0
-
When i was losing, it was every week. Now i'm maintaining it's more like every month.0

I avoided the scale for years and fooled myself in my own little la-la land. Part of my plan going forward involves getting on the scale every day to stay on track so I don't fall down that slippery slope again.
I push myself to get on there every morning now. It's been tough getting used to the little fluctuations (a day working with weights will bring a gain the next day), but now that I'm used to them, I'm glad I'm developing the habit.0
