Interval recording app?

Hey everyone! I just finished Week 1 of C25K and have been using Map My Run to record how far I traveled and see what my average speed was but I want something a little more in depth. Does anyone know of an app that is like Map My Run but records your different intervals either by noticing a sizable increase or decrease in speed or the press of a button and will tell you your average speed, the distance you traveled, and the amount of time you spent on that interval for each interval at the end of your work out? For example with Week 1 of C25K the workout log would look something like:

Time AVG Speed Distance
Interval 1- 5 Minutes 3MPH .25 Mile
Interval 2- 1 Minute 5MPH .083 Mile
Interval 3- 90 Seconds 3MPH .075 Mile
So on and so forth...

Thanks in advance for all the help!!

I'm pretty sure runtastic does this...but only the full paid version lets you set your own intervals (the free one just gives per mile, I think)

Curious to know myself. Im thinking there might be a way with the nike app but im still playing with it to see if I can get it to work.

Eta in the nike running app you can set the feedback timing in your setting. Default is 1 mile and it will tell you the time it took to finish that distance. There's also the option to set your feedback by time which will tell you how much distance you went

I use Runkeeper. It won't give you a summary report like that but you can go see your run with a bar chart and see what your pace, etc is at certain times of your run.

It is also free. I've been using it for about three years and have tried a few others but always come back to Runkeeper.

Digifit and MapMyRun have the ability to change the distance used for splits during a workout. Most of the MapMyRun features require looking at the data on the website rather than the app. Digifit gives a little more feedback post workout on the app.
  • Thanks for the help everyone!

Endomondo on Android is the best one I have found, easily syncs with MFP too :)

Runtastic does, and the paid version is only a few dollars. I have it but don't use it because it doesn't have a treadmill mode. The C25K app by Zen labs doesn't show it in the app but if you link it to mfp, it will upload 2 cardio exercises to your diary with a speed of 4.0 and 5.2 and the total number of minutes you did at each of those speeds -- even if you didn't use those speeds. The Nike Running app, doesn't show it in the app, but I think if you log onto the web site it does.

My timex ironman watch does something like that.

you program your pace, and when you run and record it tells you if you were above target, below targer, or on pace and how far you were off.

I haven't used this feature though
  • Thanks! I tried the paid version of runtastic and input my intervals before i started week 2 day 1 yesterday and the only splits I see are by KM or M. Any ideas on that? I did walk a little extra at the end and my GPS was not working the first .4 miles, could either of those have been why i couldn't see my intervals?
