Finally off Prilosec!

Have been on Prilosec for just over 10 years, with my dosage increasing from 20mg all the way to 80mg daily as my weight got worse. Well, this is my 1st week off after reducing my dosage over the past few months. This was one of the many reasons I wanted to lose weight & feeling really good about finally accomplishing this. Only 6 lbs left to reach my goal of losing 80 lbs :)

I was in the same boat. Surprisingly being on Prilosec is not recommended by any doctor for an extended period of time. It can actually interfere with certain processes of the body. I had been taking Prilosec for over ten years myself. I stopped taking it and was told by my doctor to try Ranitidine instead. Having dropped weight I no longer have to take anything.

I'm using ranitidine too, as needed. Hopefully won't need to do that for too long.

It is also cheaper which is also a total bonus. $5-6 dollars at Walmart.
