Tall people problems

1. Told you are too tall to wear heels (still rock it even thought I am 5'11).
2. Always asked to get things off the top shelf.
3. Taller than your friends.
Apologies on behalf of those asking for top shelf items...i am guilty of that too often. Even people at the grocery store get tired of me. I have litterally been lifted up to choose my things out of a poor tall guy's frustration.0 -
I'm 6'5"..... I will have to say there is a lot of whining in here for what I consider a blessing. I used to complain because of limited shoe availability, but I have found that buying shoes online is actually cheaper and easier. Likewise, because I am tall I am convinced it helps me in my career. I think people pay attention to, and perhaps subconsciously want their leaders tall.... I might be off base on that but it might be a primal thing we don't want to admit.....
I might be a positive thinker instead of being a victim, but I fly usually 4 times a week. Legroom sucks, but because I fly so much I get upgraded, or in some cases the gate agent will see me and get me a bulkhead or exit row. But I have found that really big fat people ask for the exit row thinking it is wider..... So usually the exit row is no bargain. Being a formal really big guy, I fit much better in coach now...
Funny thing though, for years people used to ask me how tall I was, or 'how's the weather up there?'. After I packed on 50 pounds do one asked those questions, but would say things like 'your huge'. Now, after losing the weight must people I know are asking, 'did you get taller?' and people I don't know are asking how the weather is up by me. So I spit and tell them it's raining.....
Being a tall MAN is far different from being a tall woman. And I have no choice but to shop online for shoes. The trouble is that women's shoes that go up to a 12 are not cheap. It costs a small fortune to be a tall woman and not wear ill-fitting clothes and shoes.
And the question was about tall people problems. And many responded. Hardly counts as "whining," don't you think?0
