Popping sound?!

I'm not new to working out, but I just recently got strict about doing it daily again. I'm getting married in June, so obviously I'm doing a lot of upper body to get my arms in shape. I've noticed though that every time I do lateral raises my shoulders start making popping noises! It doesn't feel too great either. I'm only using 6lb weights, but could I be pushing myself too hard? Is this something I should speak to my doctor about?

could be tendon rubs. Hard to say.
Do you warm up the shoulder prior to lifting? do some mobility exercises? Does it hurt when you do those?0 -
It doesn't hurt to stretch and loosen up. It's literally just the lateral raises that hurt. I do occasionally hear popping sounds when I loosen up beforehand, but it's not painful.0

Feel free to ditch the lateral raises, and just stick to strict military press.0

I have a popping in one shoulder also. It hurts after too much shoulder movements and makes dips impossible.0
