snow skiing yesterday, heavier today

I spent the afternoon and evening skiing yesterday and today I am a little over 3 pounds heavier? So that's water retention, right? I didn't drink enough water yesterday and I also was very active for the whole afternoon and part of the evening.

I was probably 500 calories over what I aim for daily, so theoretically at a maintenance level, I know I did not eat 3 pounds of calories.

Still makes me nervous! I just need someone to tell me this is normal...

If you didn't eat 3 pounds of calories why are you worried?

I'm paranoid I guess! I guess I just want someone to tell me it will be ok in a couple days, I worked out today as normal.

Hun, being paranoid over your weight isn't exactly healthy. As much as I could list about 10 things that could cause a weight fluctuation I won't just for one reason. The scale shows a number, nothing more nothing less.

Best way to mesure success is by pictures and measurements and somehow I doubt they differ from yesterday's even if the scale says 3lbs more.

Scales are evil. Dont worry about it ;)

Take that scale and throw it away. Or at least take the battery out. Forget about what you weigh after a specific activity. Weigh your self today and then again in a month…don't compare yourself to anyone else, Biggest Loser show or your best friend that has lost more…it doesn't matter as long as you do it slow and steady..
