Calories and sugar addiction help?

I went dead on this site for a while and it previously told me that I should be eating 1300 calories a day.

Now it's saying I should be eating 1200 calories a day. I have gained upwards of 15kg (please don't judge, I hit the rails).

I'm not a nutrition expert but I have done a lot of reading on the subject and 1200 seems a little low, should I change it back to 1300? Or would it be wise to leave it at the recommended amount.

On that note. I have an out of control sugar addiction, more juices and soda than anything else. Does anyone have any tips to help beat this? I feel like I've lost it :(.

Thank you for any help you can contribute.
  • Gabby, I am with you on the sugar cravings. I can go up to a week without any juice, candy, soda or refined sugar and then for a few days I crave sugar so bad that I get really cranky and moody. I have been allowing myself refined sugar (a small amount) once a week and it's helping me A LOT. I've found that allowing myself that treat helps me keep moving forward and not beat myself up or binge later on.
