I do my elliptical everyday for 30 min. but I heard that it can be bad on the knees.
Is this true?

they're supposed to be a low-impact alternative to running, but it stall has it's risks. do you suffer from knee pain?

if people didn't do exercises that MIGHT be bad for one thing or another, we'd all just stay fat.

It depends on how bad your knees are. When I was in recovery from a knee injury, I was told to cycle only. Then, once I built up some more strength, I was told to use the elliptical again.

But word of caution: NOT ALL ELLIPTICAL MACHINES ARE CREATED EQUAL.

I was told to stay clear of the one that generates a bouncy movement. The ones that feel like you're running on water is probably the best one for knees.

Rule of thumb: if it hurts, get of the machine. There's a difference between "feeling the burn" and hurting yourself.

I have more of a 'bouncy' elliptical trainer. It is a cheapie, but it still does the job. If you start to get sore, stop. It is as simple as that  - But it is meant to be lower impact than running ect.

I have a metal knee and was told by my doctor not to do exercises like bicycling up hill, no squats, squat thrusts, box jumping, leg presses or rowing. I use a seated elliptical , no weight or pressure on the knee and everything feels fine.

Do you knees hurt? If not it's fine.
