My activity level

Hello! So this is my first time on a forum let alone my fitness pal so I'm not sure how this works exactly. But I guess I'll have to try and find out. I've been having a hard time with choosing my activity level. I do insanity 6 times a week and I walk about a mile to and from my University. It's also an uphill walk... If that changes anything. Anyways, besides those two activities, I'm studying or in class.. Aka, not moving. I feel like I'm in between sedentary and active but I'm not sure. So if there's anyone out there who can let me know, that would be great.

If you are just starting MFP, try "Lightly Active". It should work for you for awhile. If you weight and measurements stall, then you can always change to "Active".

If you're doing Insanity 6x/week, that puts you into an active category, I would think.

I am assuming your walk to/from University is only uphill in one of those directions, although my Dad always insisted he walked to school uphill both ways :)

Using the "traditional" MFP method, you should not include exercise in your activity level. Since you're mostly in class during the day, sedentary would be more appropriate. When you exercise, you log that on your exercise diary and earn calories. The walks might not count if they're not far or very brisk - you'll have to determine that. Not sure if MFP has Insanity on the database but I'm sure you can get some sort of estimate online. Fair warning - many listings are overestimates so plan on only eating back about half but up to 75% if you're hungry.

However, some do include exercise in their activity level if they're consistent with it. Up to you how you want to do it.

Yes, I was thinking the same thing but I figured my sitting around the rest of the day would take away from that. Anyways, I'm not sure I got your joke. It's a little early here in Costa Rica :)

    This.

Or use http://scoobysworkshop.com/calorie-calculator/ and put yourself at moderately active or a bit higher.
