MFP not adding in the strength training

Hello!
Can anyone tell me why MFP isn't adding in the strength training to the total time spent working out or into the calories burned?

It's incredibly hard to workout the calories burnt relating to strength training - you could keep hooking up a system that tests it, but you'd have to do nothing else for 48 hours after and eat no food, which would likely screw the results a little!

If you search under cardio you will find strength training general. It will only give you an estimate though. If you do mostly strength you may want to consider the TDEE method for tracking calories.

I just use the strength training option under cardio and guestimate my burns based on what I did that day. There's not really an easy way to accurately estimate your caloric burn from lifting, so I just make a conservative guestimate and call it a day.
  • Great, thanks to all of you!
I will use the general entry knowing it's just a ball park estimate.
