I am finding that it is hard to get enough protein in the day. Are protein powders okay? If so what is a good one? Soy? Whey?

Please do some research on Soy prior to including it in your diet if you haven't already.

You can have all natural protein shakes out there that doesn't contain gluten or soy. Any one of them are great, as long as they are not made with sugar.

I use pea protein. It has a higher biological value than other proteins with low calories. But you really have to mask the taste.

Optimum Nutrition 100% whey. Mixes good and tastes good also.

The above link is to an article from Consumer Reports about their findings when analyzing protein powders. Most contain heavy metals such as Arsenc, Lead, and Mercury. That being said I still use protein powder (100% Casein from Optimum Nutrition) to supplement my diet, but I try to get it from whole foods as much as possible.

I use them sometimes. Just like anything else you put in your mouth, read the label.

I just moved across the province a few months ago and had to go buy some more recently. Since I cannot find the brand I normally use I had to look at what was available. I generally look for something with high protein and the lowest sodium since that is my demon, my body is so sensitive to it. I have always used the soy options, but thought I would look at whey... Alot of them had to me a large amount of cholesterol in them for such a small amount, so I stuck with soy. Its all about personal preference as far as what you want to put in your body.... just read the labels.

I use Nitrean by At Large Nutrition. It is blend of whey (isolates, concentrate, and hydrolyzed), casein, and egg proteins, which make it both slow and fast acting. It is very light and mixes well.
