One year later...

See my profile picture for progress please!!!

Today is my 27th birthday, but more importantly today is a day that I celebrate one of the biggest personal accomplishments I have ever made... For years I worked incredibly hard throughout college and grad school, focusing on everything but my health and well-being. I had achieved so much by the time I hit my 26th birthday, but realized that I had sacrificed my health for my goals. One year ago today, on my 26th birthday, I promised mys...elf that I would get healthy and fit for life. I am happy to say that I have kept that promise! So far I have lost 60 pounds, lost 58 inches, lost 23% body fat and ran my first 5K and I'm not even close to being done! Thank you all for the support along the way and I hope, more than anything, that this helps to inspire at least one person to make a healthy change in their life. You can do this and I'm here to help in any way I can!

    Go you!

I'm in a similar position - 26 years old, finished my PhD in the sumer, realised I had achieved some of my career goals but got fat in the process. I'm about 6 months behind you, hoping I'll have similar success!

    Thanks for the inspiration

Hey happyfitmusician, YOU are an inspiration! I'm a newly happyfitmusician too, so naturalky, I'd like to know how your newly acquired health has impacted on your music.

I've been a singer my whole life, and now as a retired woman, I have happily begun to return to performing. My weight loss has not only supported my improved appearance on stage, but also allowed me to improve my phrasing while I sing.

Hope you will be posting often!
