Hi Everyone!
I'm new here and hoping I can get some advice/insight on a few things. There may be tmi in this post just fyi.
Ok first things first there may be post regarding this already but I dont have time to search for it. Have you heard of herbalife and if so what do you think of it? Has anyone tried it?
Secondly I have a lot of digestive issues and i'm wondering if anyone has any advice or home remedies for tummy trouble. I get really bloated and gassy after I eat and my stomach feels and sound rumbly. I have been diagnosed with ibs a few years back but i'm not really sure how deal with it. I was fine for a while and now all of a sudden my stomach been giving me trouble. I'm also rather irregular. Any suggestions? I have been to doctors and they've all told me I'm fine so i'm wondering if there are some tried and true remedies out there.
Thanks!

That's really interesting because the person I talked to said it would help with digestion problems.

My recommendation: see your doctor about your IBS. Do not purchase the herbalife.

^^Seconded. Especially do this before trying to go gluten-free. Going 100% gluten-free is a PITA; you might not need to; and it might not help.

    Edited for typo.

My advice is to stay away from Herbalife. I find it to be just like every "quick" fix out there and I know from a personal friend, it is not "friendly" at all. If you know what I'm saying.

    BACK THE TRUCK UP.

    HERBALIFE COSTS $350 A MONTH?!

I knew it was expensive but JEEZUS.

Please don't spend this kind of money on this product. What you need to do is go through an elimination diet to identify what exactly is giving you gastric trouble. First you eliminate dairy completely. If you get better, then you investigate lactose free and low lactose dairy and reintroduce them slowly. If you don't get better, then you try gluten. Then you try other known suspects for food intolerances.

    The answer is NOT herbalife.

You could also be having a reaction to dairy, or soy, or a host of other things, including stress. First thing is to go to a doctor and have a real conversation about the issues you are having, and not take "you're fine" as an answer, because clearly you aren't fine. Ask them about possible trigger foods and how to go about an elimination diet to determine the problem, if that's what they recommend. Don't just start cutting stuff out of your diet because someone on the internet said it could be something. Start keeping a log of what you eat and how you feel afterwards if you do not already so you can share it with the doctor. Also make a note of anything else going on in your life physically (exercises, TOM, etc) and how you feel in general day to day (stressed, relaxed, etc) so they can figure out the cause.

Don't bother with the Herbalife, you don't need it to lose weight or do anything else that can't already be done with real food. I would especially not bother with any kind of shake or supplement like that if you are already having stomach issues of undetermined origin, because it may make things worse.

Yeah I nearly **** myself. I already know i'm lactose intolerant so i only drink soy milk but i can tolerate small amounts of cheese and yogurt.

Unfortunately then the next step is probably gluten. It's a kind of big undertaking, because to get any results you have to completely eliminate gluten and it's difficult. Do some research on going gluten free- and I'm sure there are groups on here that can help you out.

ETA: I actually agree with kgeyser- even though I also suggested gluten. Talking to your doctor is really a better plan- for some of these things they can do bloodwork that identifies specific markers for allergies, which is a lot easier than going through a million eliminations. I specifically brought up lactose and gluten because they're so common, but the doctor will be able to do much better than my guesses.
