I just started doing a workout routine that has 45 min of hill runs and 1hr of circuit training..plus calorie counting and eating pretty clean..I've been going hard for a week and a day now .. I've noticed more muscle and strength already but have gain an unwelcome 4 pounds and probably a good inch or two... i never measured.. but the jeans I wore the day before i started can barley get over my thighs and i cant do them up at all!!
Has anyone else experienced this or know why?
If you have experienced how long did it last?

Do you eat a ton of sodium and possibly retaining water? Are you drinking enough water? Could be 20,000 different reasons0

Your body retains water when you start a new exercise program. If you are eating at a calorie deficit, you aren't gaining real weight or muscle.

I drink my weight divided by 2 ... so 75 oz of water daily if not more...
low sodium intake - half of daily goal for counter...
It could be water retention... i just figured that would be gone by now.0 -
