Double Chin.

Hi, I'm losing weight in the stomach and chest area but still have a little double chin. It has got smaller but there's still a double chin. I have about 6lbs to lose to get into my healthy BMI, will it eventually go?

Mine absolutely decreased over time. I still had a little one once I hit my goal weight.

It's 5 months later, and though I still don't look like I did before I gained weight, I guess the skin firmed up or something because it's much less noticeable.

    Chin up ;)

Agree. The skin MAY tighten back up more over time than it already has. Something that also helps is building muscles in that area. I don't know if this makes sense, but if you build up your traps and SCM a little, they'll kind of pull the skin back a tiny tiny bit.

I have also read that they are hereditary and that nothing will change it. We'll see.

I still have it. I'm 8 lbs from my goal... but could probably lose another 5 after that... it's MUCH smaller though.

Any fat will eventually go if you keep living in a deficit.

Your body doesn't go "hey, he's reached goal and a healthy BMI, lets cash in the double chin". Just keep losing until the double chin is gone, "goal" and "healthy BMI" be damned.

You actually want to work the platysma muscle - the wide one running from chin/jaw to neck.

As a woman, in my country I was taught the O-U-X exercise. It's very easy once you get the hang of it - you pronounce the letters Oh.. - You... - Ex... slowly opening your mouth in the most exaggerated way you can while keeping the muscle at the front of your neck stiff . If you can feel the muscle working, you're doing it right. Have never stuck with it long enough myself but they say it works.

I know you didn't ask, but I happen to find a small rounding under a guy's chin quite charming :blushing: I guess you're doing this for yourself and not the ladies, but well, I'm rooting for them :)

i think i use " my sister" examples too much, but my sister is 5' tall and about 90 lbs ( shes naturally skinny and tiny) she has a double chin. in my family we are baby faced, and she doesnt have a strong chin... ergo double chin. i say embrace it and love your body. maybe as you tone up it will go away (?)
