Low net calorie intake , is it as bad as gross?

Some days I'm netting 800 calories, which is low for a 6ft 3 male, but gross i've eaten like 2300 calories, this is normally on weekends when i can walk upwards of 20 miles in 1 day, its the only exercise i enjoy. I do eat some exercise calories back if i am hungry (my BMR is about 1900, so physically consuming more than my BMR)
I am guessing if i was grossing 800 calories a day it would be really bad long term, but is it as bad if its net calories and i have physically eaten that day above my BMR?

If you were grossing 800 a day it would be bad, but at 6 ft 3, 2300 calories sounds about right (gross) for a cut.. is the scale changing?
MFP really overestimates your exercise calories.. so..0 -
Yes the scale is changing, dropped from 13st on 1st Jan to 12st 5 lbs on Monday.0
