Is there a low calorie healthy bread?

I just started dieting on Thursday and I am looking for a low calorie healthy bread. I can't just cut it out of my diet right now. I am eating whole wheat bread now, and it doesn't seem too bad, but I was wondering if there is something else that is better?

Hi! My family really enjoys the whole wheat of multi-grain sandwich thins. These are 100 calories for top and bottom together and are great for sandwiches.0

whole wheat is definitely the best to be sure. but if its for sandwiches you might want to get some "sandwich rounds" or "thin buns" different brands call them different things. because two pieces of bread is generally 200 calories and one thin bun (two sides, a bun) is 100 calories. also Jewish Rye bread is only 70 calories a slice and delicious0

Healthy life double fiber bread. It has a lot of little random ingredients but as far as 'health' food goes... it's a winner. 60 calories a slice, 5g fiber and 4g protein0

Weight watchers and Dempsters in Canada carry a "thin" bread line. It is whole wheat bread, just thinly sliced, so it is only about 50 calories a slice. I'm sure other companies will be carrying a version of it too.0

Nature's Own makes things called sandwich rounds that are only 100 calories each. They are fantastic. They also make "lite" breads that are usually around 70 calories a slice. I tend to avoid bread usually but i'll spring for bagels after a good workout since a whole wheat one is only 200 calories.0

I like Nickels 35 calorie multigrain bread. My 3 year old daughter and my husband eat it without even knowing that it is healthy. The only problem I have with it is that it tears easily when spreading peanut butter & jelly - you have to have a really light touch. I also like the Nickels 35 cal wheat & 35 cal white. Good luck.0

Arnold Italian bread is good, Arnold muli-grain thins are wonderful and Ezekial cinnamon raisin bread - toasted w/1 pat butter is wonderfull. I have 2 pieces of this bread for breakfast... it is a whole protein and low glycemic. Check it out.0

Orowheat Sandwhich Thins and Thomas Bagel Thins. I'd be lost without 'em!0

I like "Fit for Life" Ezekial Bread. It's in the freezer of an Organic Section. Our Kroger stores have it here. Also there is a bread made by Rudy's. That line has mult-grain, spelt etc.. A lot of your Organic outlets carry this bread.
These are good and have less gluten, processed flours, etc.. in them.

Thanks so much everyone, I will have to check these out. The whole wheat bread I am eating now is 120 calories for 2 slices so it doesn't seem too bad, but I will be looking for other alternatives!0
