Reccomendations for food scale

Hi All!

I'm looking for recommendations for a kitchen scale so I can finally start weighing my food :) I looked on amazon, and there are lots of affordable options, but nothing really to help me decide which one is best?

I'd love to hear if you have any scales that you love and can recommend.

Also, I'm looking for more awesome MFP friends, so feel free to add me!

Really anything that is digital with the tare feature and the option to switch between ounces and grams should be good. I am considering the ozeri brand when I replace mine.
  • I have had this scale for almost two years and I use it multiple times a day (I use it a ton when I am baking in addition to weighing my meals, since it saves considerably on cleanup - fewer measuring cups and spoons to wash!). It's cheap, durable (I have dropped it on the floor several times >.>) and easy to clean, so I'd recommend it.

I bought one with lots of buttons and found I use two - ON and TARE. I measure everything in grams, but any scale can work if you are consistent. I'd just go for an inexpensive, basic one from Walmart or Amazon. Just make sure it has the total capacity you expect to need.

    I use Pefect Portions: http://www.amazon.com/Design-Manufacture-Distribution-LLC-0450/dp/B003CMYV58

You can switch between oz/grams and it has codes for thousands of foods. Not only do you get the weight, but the nutritional profile too. You can easily calculate the nutritional value of everything you weigh! I just began using this feature (had mainly used it to measure for baking before) and it is so helpful!
