Oatmeal Help
I've been eating oatmeal every morning with 2 tbsps of natural peanut butter and topped with sliced banana. It's yummy but I'm getting tired of it, which is why I haven't eaten it the past 2 days. But I need to eat oatmeal daily for my milk supply (breastfeeding and have a huge undersupply issue, the oatmeal really helps out). What are some other good ways to eat oatmeal? What about baked oatmeal.. anyone have a good recipe? Thanks!

I started adding cocoa powder and a bit of stevia, delicious. I also add protein powder and bananas to this mix some days. Sometimes strawberries instead of bananas.0

I grind oatmeal in a coffee grinder to make oat flour then use it to make pancakes, protein bars, etc.0

Yes! I've tried refrigerator oatmeal too! I personally don't like it with greek yogurt (you could even put it in at before you put it in the fridge), so I leave that out.
Here are some great recipes! http://www.theyummylife.com/Refrigerator_Oatmeal

I can't seem to make oatmeal myself as flavorful (or quickly...) as the old instant packs I grew up with and it makes me so sad, but I have managed to upgrade from Quaker's oatmeal to a brand called Better Oats. http://www.betteroats.com/ Just put it in a bowl, use the packet it comes in to measure your water, and pop it in the microwave! Best of all, I actually find one packet filling enough (I use to have to use two of Quaker's, or add extra oats). And, nutritionally speaking, they have the added benefit of flax seed (and their Raw Pure & Simple line- less sugar, organic ingredients, quinoa...). This isn't a paid advertisement, I promise.
If you'd still prefer something homemade, I always look for recipes that use pureed pumpkin and oats! I really like these bars http://sallysbakingaddiction.com/2012/09/04/pumpkin-chocolate-chip-oatmeal-bars/ More nutritional binder than butter or cream or water.
Also just putting this out there, one day want to get around to making breakfast quinoa myself. Figure it's a step up from oatmeal worth suggesting! http://www.mynaturalfamily.com/recipes/quinoa-recipes/30-quinoa-breakfast-recipes/0 -
I keep mine simple: a teaspoon of brown sugar and a dash of cinnamon.0

I found adding crunch pak brand single serving sized apples w/grapes to be a great addition to my morning oatmeal recipes.0

Yep!! I've baked with it, but it's not a 100% replacement, makes it too dense. Haven't experimented enough to figure out the best ratio though.
How about making your own granola, and using it to top some yogurt or as a snack by itself?0 -
crockpot overnight recipe:
oatmeal, water, sliced apples, cinnamon, and if you want to sweeten, can add some brown sugar.
This wasnt exact, but its a close recipe...
