Teachers Talk - An NSV

My two children are fifth graders at a small school in the Chicago suburbs. The school is at the heart of a close-knit community, and we feel lucky to have stumbled upon it when we moved here from Atlanta several years ago. One of the big projects in fifth grade is a "wax museum" where they dress up as historical characters and memorize a short speech about that character's life and accomplishments. Last night was the big presentation.Even though we don't get out much, we do attend school events and see other parents at sporting events.

Today, I had to pick my daughter up early, during school hours. When I arrived, the school registrar rushed out of the office and asked, "Are you all right?" I told her I was fine. She went on to tell me that all the teachers had gone out after the event and sat around wondering whether my weight loss was on purpose or I was ill.

Yay for me!

That's awesome! Gotta love when people you don't really see often notice the change.

    Way to go!

    Congratulations!

Yes everyone here has been asking me if I've lost all this weight on purpose. And when I say yes, ask me how.

That's great--although a little strange to be the object of sympathy. Maybe you can get a t-shirt that says "Intentional Weight Loss"?
