Hi since may of 2013 I've lost about 75lbs I still have a stomach though and I'm trying to get rid of it I'm 5' 8" teenage male and right now I'm eating about 1500 calories a day and for the past week I've been doing 3 miles on the treadmill everyday I don't know if I am dong something wrong, If I'm not eating enough or if I'm eating too much I want to loose as much stomach fat as possible in 3 weeks for vacation. I keep googling things and I keep realizing that I'm doing things wrong, for instance I feel like I'm ALWAYS hungry so I eat breakfast which is normally a yogurt or something before school then I go to lunch at 10 and have a wrap that's about 300 but then about 2 houses later I'm starving so I'll have a protein bar but I keep hearing that they are horrible for you and I won't loose any weight is that true? What about the slim fast shakes? How much should I be eating? And also how about fruit can I have unlimited fruit? I love apples but do I have to count those calories??

It sounds like you are eating most of your calories in the evening. Try evenly distributing them through out the day. Having a bigger breakfast will help prevent you from being starving in the afternoon. I try to have at least one protein and a whole grain for breakfast.
Yes, you can have fruit. You just have to count the calories. I think most people are afraid of fruit because it has higher sugars in it, but it also has fiber which keeps you full longer. Apples and peanut butter are a great snack that keeps you full.
Hope this helps. Good Luck.0 -
First of all you LOST 75lbs!!!!!! That is awesome, so you are definitely doing well.
Second, you can't spot reduce so it will come off all over, not just your tummy. If your tummy is where you carried most of your weight, oddly enough it might be the spot where you notice it the least. Sounds weird but true.
Third, have you measured your waist, start and now. I am sure you have lost many inches. Tummies are kind of like inflated balloons. At first when the deflate they don't look that great -kind of loose and baggy. Be patient at your age this will tighten up
My only suggestion would be 1500 calories is not much for a teenage boy. You should make sure you eat really healthy, wholesome foods if you go that low. There is no room for empty calories.
Hang in there. You are doing great! You should be very proud of your accomplishment.0 -

This!!
You really may need more calories during the day.
Also if you are really wanting to make a difference in your tummy, toning exercises will make a big difference. Crunches will help, there are some nice workouts on blender.com that target the stomach.0 -

I agree with amarisstorm...you need to add some focused stomach toning exercises, and remember that you're abs are not just worked by doing crunches...work your obliques (side muscles) as well. Start with 5 minutes of a variety of crunches, reverse crunches, and oblique work, and work up to say 15 minutes from there. And, I've always heard that while you don't want to work major muscle groups daily, abs CAN be worked daily.0 -
I'm your height, female, and decades older and I eat more than you do (1800-2000 cals a day) and am losing the fat.
Part of the reason you are hungry all the time is you are not eating enough! Congrats on the weight loss so far, that's awesome, but I'm willing to bet you've lost quite a bit of your lean body mass by eating so low, leaving you simmer, but with soft squishy parts that you'd like to see fit and firm, yeah?
A small calorie deficit is best for fat loss. Eat good food, doing your best to hit your calorie goal and hit your macro goals (carbs/fat/protein).
For exercise - grab some weights! Squats, dead lifts and other strength exercises will help strengthen your core and many other parts of your body, helping to maintain your muscle. Keep the muscle, lose the fat.

First you are a teenage male. What is your TDEE? I think you are not eating enough if you are always hungry. You need lots of protein and good fat in your diet along with carbs for energy. Try to boil some eggs up and grab a few of them with the yogurt. Get some tuna packs and throw in your backpack to eat at lunch along with the wrap and make sure dinner is clean protein, fat and carbs (like chicken breast, an avocado and some mixed veggies and beans).
Add in some resistance training, kettlebell swings are awesome, try to do some squats, deadlifts, etc. Use Large muscles and many muscles when you work out to get the most bang for your buck.
Congrats on 75 pounds loss though! Great Job!0
