Not Eating Enough?

Was just curious as to whether or not I should be eating more on some days. For example, after exercising before bed my calories remaining sometimes reach 800-1000 and MFP sent me a warning that I'm no eating enough. However I don't feel hungry and I eat 3/4 times a day so I'm not sure should I be eating more if I know I'm exercising?

How many calories does MFP tell you to eat each day and are you using the MFP exercise database to log your exercise calories burned? Are you also using MFP to log all of your food?0

open your diary and we can take a peek and give tips. It kind of depends on what your initial goal is and what you're tracking as exercise. If you have your activity level set to active and then track your every move (like cooking, cleaning etc...) then you're probably fine. If you have yours set to catatonic (or whatever the lowest one says) and only track real workouts you probably want to be eating all those calories back. I know when I first started it was hard to hit my original goal of 1350 calories BEFORE workouts every day but I've gotten used eating more and have my goal set to 1700 (most days I eat around 1900-2200 before my workouts)
The best gauge is how do you feel and how fast are you dropping weight. Do you feel energetic, happy to wake up, complete your workouts without feeling like your legs are concrete blocks? you're probably eating enough. If you feel sluggish and tired, have a hard time making it through your workouts and are super sore the next day you may not be getting enough. I find that its hard for me to fit in all my calories without protein shakes. I know some people on here dont like anything thats not real food but they're convenient, tasty and help me meet my numbers so I'm a fan.0 -

^ agree , and after a certain time you should not eat anything heavy . be consistent with this. *00 calories left over is a mistake , your fooling your self cause if the body needs more fuel it will start on some muscle with the fat.. The MORE Muscle you have the more calories you burn . if your eating all your cals per day , your in the end hurting yourself some how
EAT ! better earlier in the day , nuts , granola bar , what ever your eating on the GO , Find something . Wait till your older and you will start Bing eating when hungry , learn to be consistent now , even if its a " in your pocket lunch " .... Good luck.0 -
For 22 year old male, you should be eating way more than that!! At least over 2000 calories or more a day.

Eat some high calorie foods you like... a candy bar, ice cream, poptart, cookies.
if you don't eat enough calories you will lose more weight than expected and it will be muscle mass too, then you end up looking like a 12yr old girl.0 -

This is ridiculous and makes no sense at all.
OP eat more, not less, and for sure disregard this.
Or perhaps this poster could come back and give you a reply that actually makes sense.0
