Need help with calories and ounces?

I dont have a food scale at this moment and im new to this site.
I was wondering how many chicken wings equal to 4 oz?
I know it depends on size but i just want to know on average.
I have the 3 joint perdue chicken wings, not wingettes.
The package says 220 calories per 4 ounces.

Minimum of 2 and probably closer to 3. 3 if your cutting off the tips. Just a guess, but I've done it enough times. Pick up a scale, they're cheap and come in handy.

The package says 220 calories per 4 ounces.

The package should also say "servings per package", so do the math.

If it says 5 servings per package, and there's 20 wings, then it's 4 wings.

Calorie counts aren't exact.. having 4.3 oz is well within the margin of error for logging, and won't change things at all.

Based on my experience at bars, one pound of wings is about 8 or 9 (either wing mid-section, without tip, or drumette). So 4 oz would be 2 or 3 individual pieces, probably 1 of yours.

The package says servings vary. So it doesnt tell me how many servings it is.

Your not going to get an exact answer, that would be impossible. Get the butcher to weight them next time.

Buy some scales otherwise it's all going to be guesswork the only way to count calories properly is to be accurate and that means weighing food.

If I could eyeball food and guess the calories, I would have never gotten fat.

Yeah, you're just going to have to estimate and do the best you can this time. Trust me, it happens. A scale comes in really handy, but sometimes one isn't always around. You also get better at estimating portions with time. Estimate, log it, and move on. One day won't undo all your work.

the package will say how many ounces total. then you count how many wings are in the package. then you divide the total number of ounces by how many pieces and that will tell you approximately how many ounces each piece is. ex: 16oz total in package. 16 pieces in package. would be 1oz per wing. 16/16=1
