Losing that 50 or so lbs of me

Hi there! I'm 26 years old and 5'7" tall. i've been in the 200-210lb range since I first went to college in 2007. I'm tired of stairs making me tired and being winded walking at a brisk pace. I joined here at the prodding of a friend and I'd like to get myself down to a healthy weight and get more in shape through some kind of exercise. (i'm very sedentary and I eat when I'm bored.)

I love to swim and the campus I live on now has some amazing trails and an indoor gym and pool, so the exercise opportunities are there, I just need to build a support system and get myself going. So hello!
