Obligatory 'why didn't i lose more' post

Im 5 foot 7 and 30 years old. Male.

Only been doing this for 2 weeks now, last week I weighed as 170.2 pounds, today 168.6. So thats only a loss of 1.6 pounds.

Im strictly eating and recording 1400 calories a day, and have never gone over by more than 10 calories.

Im a nurse and work strange shifts so don't class myself as sedentary, just maybe 1-3 hours a week light exercise. (if that!)

Do I need to lower my calorie limit from 1400?

Thanks for the advice!

You lost just under a pound a week with your weight and a comparatively small amount to loss that's a great amount continue what you're doing and more will come off

    That's a great loss!

To make you understand or feel better I lost 3 to 4lbs the month of January and trust me I wanted to lose more. lol

But I understand in order to preserve muscle and keep it off the long term that was a great loss so pat yourself on the back and appreciate yourself! You did good sir!:flowerforyou:

Edit: FYI, I'm 5'10.5", female and 171 at 1850 calories daily. I would argue you could go higher.

I personally think that is not enough calories for anyone, especially a 30 year old male. I am a 30 year old female and I won't go that low and I have lost over 80 pounds.

Healthy, sustainable weight loss tends to be slow. It was super slow for me, but it was worth it, and I've been at maintenance for almost 3 years now. Whatever you do to lose the weight needs to be something you are willing and able to continue forever if you want to keep it off. Other people may lose quickly and dramatically, but if they are too restrictive it's gonna be hard to maintain that regimen in the long-term. :flowerforyou:
